The MZ Trophy is from the GDR (East Germany). MZ stands for Motorradwerk Zschopau. Zschopau is where the factory was located. The ES model series was built between the years of 1956 to 1978. Only the "Trophy" variation had the Art Deco tank / headlight combination. It looks square from the front. We have had two Trophys: a 1971 ES 150/1, which is the blue and cream bike below, and the 1969 ES 250/2 in black and red. The 250/2 version was only built between 1967 and 1969 and is the more rare of the two. They are fun little bikes to ride. We sold both and keep hoping to come up with another in perfect restored condition. We love the Art Deco of the bike.
