1951 NSU Konsul II 500

This 500cc Konsul is a single cylinder 4-stroke machine with 21 HP. The selling slogan of the day was “Kluge Köpfe kaufen Konsul.” The NSU factory was in Neckarsulm Germany. The first Konsuls came out in 1951 designed by Albert Roder. The 500 Konsul is based on the 501 OSL model. The Konsul II was the final development of NSU’s big single cylinder motorcycles. Most think the Japanese invented the upside down fork, however this 1951 Konsul has one. The high pipes on the motorcycle are from the sports version of the Konsul. It was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in 2012.
