In the summer of 1998, we rode our Harley Davidson nearly 7,000 kilometers. Starting from our hometown of St. Ingbert, we rode along the borders of Germany and France, over the Swiss Alps, through Northern Italy and down to the Mediterranean coasts of Italy, France and Spain. Just south of Valencia, we turned west and wound our way through the Sierra Nevadas to the Guadalquivir River, finally stopping for a family visit in La Puebla del Rio.

It's a different view from a motorcycle - the natural elements are up close and personal. Here are some photos from that journey and others in Europe.

Our home away from home.
Lago Magiorre in northern Italy (above) was the first stop on our adventure. After rain in the Swiss Alps,
we were happy for blue skys and sunny weather.

The Italian Riveriera (right) was one of our favorite places. We bought fresh bread and salami and had
a picnic on the beach at Noli.
The famous port of St. Tropez, France.

The casino at Monte Carlo.

A small hideaway beach (left) at Tossa de Mar,       on the northeast coast of Spain... our favorite       location on our trip.
A fountain at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain.

The famous reflecting pool at the Alhambra.

A rooftop view of the Guadalquivir River (left) in       La Puebla del Rio, Spain. This was our final       destination to visit family, before returning home       to Germany.
