As we live only 15 kilometers from the French border, many of our short motorcycle trips end up at a Bistro or Cafe in France. We often ride with three to four of our friends. The stops along the way are interesting, including old bunkers along the Maginot Line, and a glider plane "airport" in the country side.

Below are photos from a few local trips over the past couple of years. Enjoy.

One of the nicest times of year to ride in Germany
is in May when the raps fields are ready for harvest.

These pictures were taken on a ride in May 1999.

The first stop on one of our trips in July of 2002
was at one of the bunkers at the Maginot Line.
The next photo opportunity was at a small river in the French countryside. Two of Ziggy' brothers joined us for this ride, Andy and Jörk. All of the Hubertus brothers ride motorcycles; two have classic Honda's, and the other a custom-built Suzuki. Of course, we have our pick from 18 motorcycles to ride. On this trip, we picked the Duc and the Harley.
A nice little Bistro for lunch, and across the street was this wonderful old, elegant house.

The first stop on one of our usual routes is a nice glider plane landing strip, across the border in France. There is also a bar & grill. You can see it in the photo below, when we visited there with the Wehrmachts Gespann.

Next stop, Saareguemines. It's an old city right on the Saar River, which runs through Germany and France.
Yep. That's us... in front of the Saar River. The building behind us is a playhouse. It's also in Saareguemines.
