This is a very early Cotton motorcycle, British made. It is a 1934 Cotton 25J with a four-speed foot-change gearbox. The Cotton Motorcycle Company started in 1918 with the first production motorcycle in 1920. The Cotton motorcycles are famous for their “Triangulated Frame”. They were very successful in racing during the 1920s through the 1940s.
This motorcycle was a recent auction-acquired machine for a customer (and friend) of ours. It’s a beautiful old bike with great patina. They brought it to Classic Motorcycles for a general look-over to make sure it was safe to ride.
