1969 BMW R60/2 with Steib S501 Sidecar

This beautiful BMW and sidecar are owned by Dan Reichel and Theresa Worsch. Classic Motorcycles completed the motorcycle restoration in May of 2012 and the sidecar was restored a month later. The R60/2 has an air cooled, 600cc, opposed twin engine with a four-speed gearbox. This BMW has the large 25 liter gas tank (6.6 gallons), an original BMW option.

The sidecar is an original Steib sidecar. Many enthusiasts consider the S501 to be the quintessential Steib sidecar. The S501 model differs from the S500 in its suspension system. It has a hydraulic dampner that the S500 does not. Another rarity on this R60/2 is a triple instrument Rauch headlight, which was added in 2013. The R60/2 and sidecar have been shown at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering and the Dana Point Concours d’Elegance.
