This BSA Gold Star Scrambler is a 500cc off-road motorcycle with telescopic forks. It is a single cylinder. The Catalina Scrambler got its name as a result of Feets Minert’s Catalina Grand Prix victory. It was so important that BSA re-named the 1959 Gold Star the “Catalina Scrambler”. The aluminum-barrel Gold Star was one of the most successful race bikes ever built. This motorcycle was restored in 1988. It has the rare 1-1/2″ Amal GP carburetor, which was a special order item. Advertising from 1959 describes the bike well: “Superbly finished with chrome fenders, chrome handlebars and wheel rims, black frame.”
